# Install Hunch in your AI agent

Hunch is a remote MCP server at `https://hunchsheet.app/mcp`. Add that URL to your agent and sign in when it asks; the agent then has tools that judge, tag and score batches of text. To try it first with no account, use `https://hunchsheet.app/mcp/try` instead: ten texts a day are free.

## One line for every agent

`add-mcp` is a small open-source tool that writes the server into the config of every agent it finds on your machine (Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and others), in each one's own format.

Open your agent, and it shows Hunch as needing sign-in. Sign in with a key you have, or press **Start with 100 free rows** on the sign-in page: no email, no card.

To try Hunch without any sign-in, use the keyless URL instead. Pick one of the two, not both.

For the keyless version, replace `/mcp` with `/mcp/try` in any of these and skip the sign-in step.

## No account: the keyless connection

`https://hunchsheet.app/mcp/try` needs no sign-in and no key. The judging tools answer from a free sample of ten texts a day per network address. When you want more, the tool `hunch_get_key` returns a key with 100 free rows in its result, with no email, and you pass it as the `api_key` argument. Nothing has to be reconfigured.

## Check that it works

List the tools with one request. No key is needed on the keyless URL:

Or ask your agent: *Use Hunch to rate how urgent each of these five emails is, from 1 to 4.* It should call `hunch_score`.

## With a key instead of the sign-in page

Scripts, CI and clients without a browser can send a key in a header. Get a free one with `POST https://hunchsheet.app/trial` and body `{"source":"agent"}`, or use one from a purchase.

## Not an MCP client?

## Questions

### What does the sign-in page ask for?

A Hunch key. If you have none, press the free-rows button on that page: it creates a key with 100 rows and connects, with no email. The agent gets a token, never the key.

### Which should I add, /mcp or /mcp/try?

Add `/mcp` for everyday use: it signs in once and uses your credits. Add `/mcp/try` to evaluate Hunch with no account: it has a small daily sample and the tools to get a free key or a checkout link.

### Does it cost anything to install?

No. Installing is free, and so is the first 100 rows. After that it is $29 for 5,000 rows, then $19 for 25,000 more on the same key, with no subscription.
